Pinned Link Tips – Part 1
Paul’s Mentioned some others that were not pinned about clubs that were doing Halloween theme focused rooms.

Creator Tools:
Room Inspiration & Templates is a new Tool You can see the full list of ideas that are created for you. Including links you can grab and drop in a room and they can see the game you are playing to have a fun room. Help you to ask and answer questions.
Pinned links are opening up a lot of monetisation opportunities for creators – use these for your upcoming ticketed events – brand partnerships – book launches – Link through to sponser – newsletter sign ups. Hope is that these links are helpful to everyone.
Goal of Clubhouse per Paul is to build more features for creator eccentric use and to help to expand the use of the rooms. Some upcoming ones are focused on helping to make Clubhouse more accessible to more people to help creators grow their audience.

3 to 4 big things coming but no word on what they are shipping.
Also mentioned: Replays are being tested internally and will be out soon. Note about Replays: This next comment from the CH Updates Room that I am a Moderator in. Replays: A Quote from one of the designers shared by Simon of Otter.ai Process of testing – Pinned Links will still work in Replays – if you use Otter.ai – they will be able to access the transcript. Summary of Thought: The replay is some sort of recording of the room. The Audience will be able to experience the links in the replays. It is a full replay experience including the LINKS!
Q&A – New Features
Pinned Links
Q. When I open a pinned link and someone asks me to speak – the toast comes over the pinned link – we are unable to access the room controls so its difficult to mute when going to the stage without closing the toast first and clicking the done to come back to the room or can we enter the stage muted so we can answer the toast directly?
A. Background Thoughts by Paul to Mute vs UnMute: If you raise your hand to ask a question – and you come up – seems that could have you unmuted so you can come up and ask you questions. Since there are no visual cues – maybe a better solution is to build an indicator that tells you that you are talking and you were on mute. They are going to look at building a solution. Note from Anu: Since there are big stages that were not expected many people may be arriving to the stage and not be talking for a while so mute seems to make sense to me.
Q. Is there an ability to have the creator of the room have more access to the features than the rest of the moderators that do not have around the links?
A. Ideal is to allow you to add links or multiple links to the room. The addition of the carousel will be there soon. Point Moderator permissions is a hot talking item. Hopefully we will refine them said Paul at the end.
Clips and Replays
Q. Will you please allow us to take a clip later instead of live?
A. That will be a feature in Replays.
Q. Replays – will replays be only available for all members?
A. Initially Replays will be for public rooms. The creator will be able to download and share elsewhere – anyone else can remove it – creator of room can remove completely. Yes we will be able to turn off the replays and even after finished. It will be on the profile of the club if the room was hosted by the club or if they were the speaker of the room. Clarification will be coming over the next few weeks.
Q. BackChannel – Running out of the ability to connect with people in the room that are new?
A. Rate Limit BackChannel to people who don’t follow you to prevent spam. 5 people per day has been increased to 10 per day – they will reconsider if there are good use cases for rate limit needs – so if you are wanting more – please send those recommendations with your use case!
Note Re Club Messaging: Inbox is a precious thing – When people send you messages we want to make sure you see them – As a club member you could get a new message for every member – want to figure out a way to handle that before they allow messaging to all club members. This is so it doesn’t overflow your messages. If you have ideas ask.
Rooms Ranking in Hallway
Q. “Can I switch rooms in the hall by number of participants and if not, why not? That would allow me to go to the most popular room that’s happening whenever I open up.”
A. “No, no, those aren’t the rooms that you want to go to. If we did that then we just have the rich get richer thing in any room that got any momentum with just suddenly massive, massive, massive broadcast room. And you know, there are probably 1000s of other rooms that are way better for you… Of the, you know, hundreds of 1000s of rooms that are getting created every day. We we try to find the right one for you,”
Accordingly, the hallway is based on specifics for you as a user. It is further based on:
- Social Graph for the user.
- Interests
- Prior Usage
Finally, there is more work that we can do to make this better for you everyday. Do not want you going to the “popular” rooms. Idea from Anu maybe a place to view what’s happening on CH in a separate place. (Indeed, the prospect of this is exciting for sure!)
Language Selection Feature
Q. Another Question about this one. Speaking of, Language Selector, which you mentioned, a follow up question from the speaker. Please, how can I can mark an added language?
A. Language settings: Still this lets you edit what you can see for rooms with languages. Traditionally, this is in the settings. Of course, you may change as often as you like. NOTE: Next language item is to look at what language is this room in? Although, this will be coming when we create a room. Within, this setting, with the idea that eventually Clubhouse will match up to rooms to the users language choices. But, until it goes live we will not know how it’s going to play out for some folks.
Discovering Clubs
Q. Additionally, We can see people in common on personal profiles – is there a way we can do this for a club? “I think it would be great to know how many people I follow are members of clubs that I could potentially be interested in. Right now we can see this on the individual level. For example, when we go to a person’s profile, it’ll show us who we have in common in terms of follows. So is there a way that we could do this for clubs?”
A. Yes. And I think what we should do is not just show you how many I think we should show you with specific people. And we have a design for that this is all part of informing the tap. Also, I think that’s going to be so helpful. To add that end, I think it’s on our roadmap in November.
Finding Specific People
Q. Another question about discovery and finding specific people in clubhouse, so it’d be amazing if you could add room carousels on a person’s bio so that we could see what rooms an individual has upcoming. And then the the additional question we often get about this is, “What room that person is in right now?”
A. Yes, agree this should be added to the profile. Regardless, it is not on the road map currently. But we can give tips to find specific people now. As you will see, the next upcoming is already listed on personal profile – we understand it would be good to make it a carousel. At the moment, this is not showing that way. Furthermore, as we want the next room to show on the half sheet. However, Clubhouse is designing a carousel for the expanded full profile. Additionally, using the side panel. Hopefully, you can scan for your friends.
You see, anyone who follows you and you follow back will show in this panel. (I believe this may be ranked based on recent interactions) Which means that, from here you can see the room that they are in.
Ping List Q
Q. Is there a way to remove people from the Ping list if they are already in the room or not on the app?
A. from Paul: Why is that useful? Anu: People want to see a clean list. Some have said it’s not showing. Currently there is a checkmark on the Ping list to let you know they are in the room already. We will not have a view where we do not show them. In other words, If you pinged someone into the room – does that show on my list?

Fun Features!
Q. Feature CheckIN: Audience Feedback – will we have that coming? “I love comedy and variety show club rooms which have large audiences but I feel like I want to be able to contribute as a true Audience Member providing some response or reactions. Do you think that there would be a way for us to give feedback and they talk a lot more about different specific suggestions, but I’d be helpful just to share our thinking right now.”
A. There is a lot they can do here – so for now, starting to think about this now. What kind of feedback would be additive for the speakers not to mention what would take away from the speakers. How to do this is the biggest question and there are things we could put in but want to make sure it is not distracting. Thankfully, It is now on the radar and in light of this, hopefully in the next couple of months we will all see this feature!
Q. Can we decorate the rooms to match the topics?
A. This would be really cool – like the idea of making the room to shine for the room. It seems to me that we could give space for people to create without it being crazy. Moreover, a blank canvas may be a bit confusing – hint around some kind of templates for rooms. Dark Mode Skin – Music Mode Skin were both suggested.
Event Question – Descriptions
Q. Why are event descriptions displayed differently? Is there a way to have the full event description everywhere it is displayed?
A. As a matter of fact, Yes that would be good. Starting a room and Schedule an event needs to be streamlined. It seemed that this should be done and hopefully will get this in there soon. (Again my mind wonders if this is one of the TBD items… hmmmm)
Q. Feature Needed – Everyone to answer a Poll?
A. You can now use pinned links! In light of that, use a service that doesn’t make you sign in. Check out the list of some of the tools you might use one of these. “Surveys / Polls. Furthermore you will now be able to fully interact with your audience by sharing Poll and Survey links to questionnaires. (ex: Survey Monkey, Doodle, Poll Everywhere)” I pulled this from the Website for Creators that Clubhouse created. Click here to read the full page.

Analytics
Q. You’ve talked before about introducing more analytics for creators. When do you think you will have this and what additional details would you be able to give us.
A. Clubhouse, again is starting to think about this now. Analytics should be actionable. “Yeah, so we’re starting to think about that this month, and which I’m super excited. We’ve always wanted to. It’s just setting distribution and helping you grow your audience is more important. So, we’re going to prioritize that first. But now we’re starting to get to the point where we’ve got enough people we can we can parallel things. So we’re starting to think about that now.”
Paul wants to be sure that they are useful to help creators know what will help you do more or less of, what to do to help you with a sponsor.

Pondering Question – behind the scenes.
Q. In like manner: Can you, Paul, give us an inside look into what you are working on now or solving now?
A. Sure, Here is the current one: In as much as, we are not doing a good job of extracting information from the users. Given that we need to know what they may be looking for. So that, the rooms we find and present would be a great fit. Example: Pizza Club – Where as Pizza experts are connecting five days a week. To further the point, anyone who makes pizza should definitely join this club. Even so, replays will be helpful so that you can find those spaces, which are tailored to the niches, that in actuality you want to find.
Requests for Shows
First of All, creating rooms that continue on with the use of more pinned links. Especially since people are using them a lot! We are seeing the evidence that the engagement is high… furthermore, many people are tapping through on these things. Again some additional ideas shared that have been used already are YouTube, News/Editorial Articles, Blog Posts, Lyrics to Songs, Music Videos, Podcast Episodes… (and this list goes on – we would love to hear, what will you add to it!) Without a doubt, the best feature ever!
