As always if you have any questions, you can send them anytime like throughout the week, just go to clubhouse.com, there’s a link on the bottom page to submit a question for town hall. They gather all the questions together and figure out what are the ones most people ask, and make sure to respond to them.
Some of the things happening on Clubhouse this week…
Rooms of all kinds from Sports to Dating to BDay Parties (including App Start date birthdays and club anniversary celebrations) were happening this week. Lullaby Club continues to bring a great show each week.
One Year Anniversary Rooms is one thing that is happening more and more on Clubhouse and it quite exciting. My own Clubhouse BDay is coming up in December – watch for party announcements! To connect with me on Clubhouse come on over to clubhouse.com/@beboldyou and give me a follow.
Producers creating incredible rooms with Music Mode. Musicians are loving this. Movies are being discussed right along with many other rooms about media.
BackChannel continues to be used by many and there have been more than a billion messages sent in the back channel since it was created.
Clubhouse being used for a way for the elected officials to be able to connect with those they serve is something they are seeing more of. This is right in alignment with the creators of the apps desire to help people have more meaningful conversations.
PINNED Links is coming! This week! Which is a way to Pin a LINK to the top of the room. Many of what is being talked about it is connected to things happening in the world. Musicians selling to concerts. Inventors selling products. Course Creators selling their courses.

Pinned Links & How They May Be Used.
All Moderators in a room will be able to post links at the top of the room. Image preview from the link and people can tap on the link. Links to Polls, Share YouTube Shows, Your Podcast, Your Book Sale Page, Music Hosted, Go Fund Me Page (and the like), and many more options. This is going to make telling people about what you have going on outside this app easier.
This will be LIVE on the 27th October 2021. This will also help with world wide fundraisers and for authors to share new works of their books.
Product: Update from last week.
Product: Last week – customised Link Previews for clubs, rooms, profiles – they now have the photos of the hosts, speakers, club, title, date, branding, link back to the source of the share.
Language picker on iOS is now live. It has been in Android for a while.
Carousels based on the topics you care about are now showing up in the hallway. This will make it easier for you to see what clubs you may want to join.
Fixed bugs to music mode and audio features. Added spatial audio to clips, performance improvements for Android.

Pinned Links for everyone – there are ideas be spun around the use of this feature.
Coming soon to Android – improving the way clubs are displayed on your profile. Will follow up with iOS.
The club creation + symbol will be at the front of the carousel of clubs.
Q&A:
Links –
Question: (Q.) Will there be a change links capacity while you are in the room?
Answer: (A.) Yes you can change the links – tap dots and change the links as much as you want. Design in the works for a carousel of links will be coming.
Q. Is there a way to share links with just moderators,
A. use the back channel.
Room Links –
Q. Would like to use the same link again and again? Is it possible to have them be able to have a waiting room?
A. Totally makes sense – Clubhouse want to see how people use Room Links first before building out options for this feature. Could possibly have people come to the audience. May possibly do this in the future if it is needed for the broader community.
Q. Universal Search – How can we find specific people via search – How do you find specific people?
A. At top of hallway – universal search – it shows the top results which is a blend of all the results, clubs, people, rooms, events. Ranked by who you follow – sometimes it does not always bring people directly to the person. You can search by user name.
Buddy List –
Q. What room are they in – is there a way to find a specific user?
A. There is not a way to enter a specific user name. You can go to browser clubhouse.com/@username will bring up their profile. (You must have the @ symbol in the url.)
Paul Pondering Out Loud: May prioritise the exactness of the search rather than the ranking method.
My Recap: There is not a way to go directly from profile page to room person is in (at least not yet).
Clips –
Q. Are there more editing tools coming for Clips?
A. Yes more editing tools are coming for clips. When Replays is launched there will be easier ways to find the ‘right’ 30 seconds. Possible to allow people to opt in rather than have it a default for the rooms. Currently they are in the public spaces only at this time.
Request for Feedback: Please send any ideas for modification for this feature.
Q. Best Ways Seen Clips Used?
A. Musical, Post Show Highlights, Moments people want to keep and share later, recurring conversations snippets for what you talked about and what may be coming, short bit to show what’s happening now.
Q. Clips with captioning?
A. Rohan Answered: They have experimented with this – one of the problems that has been reached is that there are sometimes more than one person at a time speaking and they are working on ways to implement a captioning that will capture each conversation part by all the participants.
Replay –
Q. How will these be findable:
A. They will be in search, share a link, on your profile if you are speaker, they will be on club profiles. Soon, there may be other ways coming for this feature.
Waves –
Q. Lessons in Moderation – Wave – What is the best way to use this?
A. Waves in simplicity is a private room. This allows for you invite more people at a time to a room. Then it minimises the requests and allows you to keep working on the app – anyone you waved at can join the room. You can open it up to a social room if you want or a public room. My Responding Question from this is: Is there a way to invite multiple people and keep them all in that one same room? NOTE: In testing this out we have found that if one person responds and others respond later they do not join the same room this has been creating a new room.
Recurring Rooms –
Q. Would it be possible to have a recurring events for regular members only club rooms? As it’s tough to schedule ahead when we have to do it every week.
A. They are still working on how to manage this so that no-shows are taken off automatically – possibly a warning. Clubs regular meet ups for communities is the nuance of this question. This would really help a lot of clubs who hold a standing room already.

Side NOTE: In the works is RSVP Fix as Great events not showing – some changes to the mini calendar at top of hallway. May show more rooms from people you follow – not the broader upcoming from you.
Pinned Links –
Q. With pinned links you could link to another room?
A. This could be done if you put the next event on the calendar and take the link from that event in the room you are in now.
Side NOTE: Rooms that show in your hallway are created by…What you interact with the most, trending rooms where people are staying, where you have gone to historically is a part of how it is done today, please send feedback as to what you want to see.
Ranking Clubs in Search –
Q. How does this work?
A. Try to find you the best result – to what extent is it an exact match for your query or a good match overall to your search. Is it active? Are they hosting lots of rooms, size of membership, are their upcoming events, are you a member, are friends of yours members, does the term you are searching match the title or description of events, these are some of the variables used. Activity is a big variable used.
Creators / Brands:
Q. Do you do partnerships with artists? I would love to do an exclusive release for an album.
A. Write to partnerships@clubhouse.com
Q. Is it possible to have paid sponsored rooms?
A. Yes, send questions to partnerships@clubhouse.com for now. We do want to build this directly into the product. For now it is happening organically. Anticipate we will see this more with the Pinned Links feature that is coming out.
Room Formats –
Q. We are seeing lots of News Rooms. Are they sponsored or are they created by users – would it be possible to use the same format in a different way?
A. Almost all things are creator imagined and created. Similar formats elsewhere, yes, use inspiration of the formats of rooms in general. IP rights may be one thing you may want to look at, when in doubt talk to the creator.
Etiquette NOTE: Ask… Attribution for format vs content, it’s polite to talk with people about it.
App Format on Phone –
Q. Would like to be able to pause sound on the lock screen? Controls from lock screen.
A. Experimented with this in the past, works about 80% of the time and about 20% of the time its buggy, Rohan will be looking into this.
Incident Reporting –
Q. Who gets to make the decisions on incident reports?
A. Community Guidelines Trust and Safety Pathway is in there. Who gets to make decisions: this is done by a full team that investigates the violations, it is an independent team – they are working with the users and talking with them about what is happening. There are external guidelines that are put out and internal guidelines are then applied to those external guidelines.

Answer: At a high level we are looking at how should replays interact with the app and what’s happening live?
Pinned Links –
IDEAS for using Pinned Links: Shows that people are reviewing – articles about that everyone can look at during the conversation. Pinned Links used to create a conversation around the link you are pinning. Fun Games using the pinned links to put the instructions at top of the rooms. Book Clubs, Recipe and people cooking together. Remixing ideas. Creating Template people can use for their own use too.
Upcoming rooms were shared and I will not list them here rather I would advise you to go use the universal search for you to find the topic related events that are on the calendar which you may like. Look for recap rooms that are going on for shows you are watching or in-person events you are attending too.
